you like a guy, and he says one thing. That thing could mean anything.
Then you can't stop thinking about it.

If you got a PSP 3000 then I'm really jealous. But yeah.

To be honest, I don't like how light they are...I like the heaviness of the 1000 model. That, and the screen interlacing issue, I didn't want that. One of my friends have the 3000 and I dunno, the brightness of the screen was nice, but the interlacing thing just turned me off. I searched another forum for trade/sale section and found a nice PSP 1000 in great condition lightly used and traded my DS Lite for it :)

Well, it's easy to call anything that catches big-time mainstream "pop". If you like to super-labelize, then you can go ahead and add the "pop" somewhere in there.

i never dismiss country as it is the last bastion of storytelling in lyric and music. it is also the basis of most other formats along with gospel. although a lot of country can be dire, there is a lot of good too. sundays in my mum and dads house was always the smell of windex, lemon sented funiture polish and the sound of country music and black music, and rock. Posh. Hehe...that was clever. Good question, too...

In theory rap/spoken word could be a very effective medium of expression. I mean, it's easy to tell what the artist is saying and it usually has a catchy beat. So if someone could just find something to rap about beside sex, guns and drugs, I think we'd something a little more world-changing.

Black music. Ha.

(Yes this is exactly what it looks like.)
its not a visual reference

Black music is a term encompassing music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music) produced or inspired by black people (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_people). In modern circles, this has come to usually refer to the great many music genres (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_genre) that have developed as a result of African American music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_American_music).
African American music is an umbrella term given to a range of music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music) and musical genres (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_genre) emerging from or influenced by the culture of African Americans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_American), who have long constituted a large ethnic minority (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_minority) of the population of the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States). Some of their ancestors were originally brought to North America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America) to work as enslaved peoples (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery), bringing with them typically polyrhythmic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyrhythmic) songs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Song) from hundreds of ethnic groups (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_group) across West (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Africa) and sub-Saharan Africa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sub-Saharan_Africa). In the United States, as cultures merged, multiple cultural traditions merged with influences from polka (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polka), waltzes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waltz) and other European (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe) music. Later periods saw considerable innovation and change. African American genres have been highly influential across socio-economic groupings and internationally. African American music and all aspects of African American culture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_American_culture) are celebrated during Black History Month (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_History_Month) in February of each year in the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States).

Features common to most African American music styles include:

The influence of African Americans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Americans) on mainstream American music began in the 19th century, with the advent of blackface (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackface) minstrelsy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minstrel_show). The banjo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banjo), of African origin, became a popular instrument, and its African-derived rhythms were incorporated into popular songs by Stephen Foster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Foster) and other songwriters. In the 1830s, the Second Great Awakening (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Great_Awakening) led to a rise in Christian revivals and pietism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pietism), especially among African Americans. Drawing on traditional work songs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work_song), African American slaves originated began performing a wide variety of Spirituals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirituals) and other Christian music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_music). Many of these songs were coded messages of subversion against slaveholders, or which signaled escape.
During the period after the Civil War, the spread of African American music continued. The Fisk University Jubilee Singers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisk_Jubilee_Singers) toured first in 1871. Artists including Morris Hill (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Morris_Hill&action=edit&redlink=1) and Jack Delaney (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Delaney) helped revolutionize post-war African music in the central East of the United States. In the following years, the Hampton Students and professional jubilee troops formed and toured. The first black musical-comedy troup, Hyers Sisters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyers_Sisters) Comic Opera Co., was organized in 1876.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_American_music#cite_note-1)
By the end of the 19th century, African American music was an integral part of mainstream American culture. Ragtime (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragtime) performers like Scott Joplin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Joplin) became popular and some soon became associated with the Harlem Renaissance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlem_Renaissance) and early civil rights (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_rights) activists.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/skins/common/images/magnify-clip.png (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SlaytonJubileeSingersNeb.jpg)
African American, also known as black music has long been popular with people of all ethnic backgrounds throughout the United States. Here the Slayton Jubilee Singers perform in jaton about 1910.

The early part of the 20th century saw a constant rise in popularity of African American blues (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues) and jazz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz). As well as the developments in the fields of visual arts, the Harlem Renaissance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlem_Renaissance) of the early 20th century lead to developments in music.

I'm pissed. Okay, if anyone read a post I posted awhile back, you'll know that I started losing weight, without trying, until eventually I put it back on, until I weighed more than I originally did! I know why.
So today I decided that I was going to pay attention to what I ate and not go over a certain amount of calories (the amount of calories my particular body needs to function properly). So I ate like normal; just paid attention to how often I ate, and I realized I ate when I wasn't hungry. But its not my fault. I've been doing good all day, had a nice lunch, snack, and I'm about to find dinner, but my father comes home and starts offering me some food. I decline. He keeps bugging me to eat it and I'm still declining. So about 30 minutes later, he calls me in to his room to see if I wanted something different to eat. I told him I wasn't hungry. He keeps asking. I go back to my sewing and like a hour or so later he comes in and says he is going to McDonalds and asked what I wanted.
WTF? They eat soo much and now I realize why everyone in this house is overweight.
I tell him I'm not hungry and that I just ate lunch not long ago. So they call me into their room and starts asking me what I wanted from McDonalds, I again tell them I'm NOT HUNGRY! So I go back to my room and at that time was to pissed to even sew. So I'm sitting there on the phone and my father comes home from McDonalds. He calls me into the room and hands me a cookie. I'm like, "I said I wasn't hungry" He replies that I like junk food. At this point I flip out and start yelling "I'm not hungry! Stop trying to force-feed me. Why does it bother you so much that I'm not hungry. I ate lunch just a few hours ago!" To this they reply that they were just trying to be nice...

WTF? This family is ridiculous, if they really care about someone eating every 3 1/2 seconds then why don't they feed all the freakin' hungry children in the world. I could see if I hadn't eaten all day and I just wasn't eating. I had just ate and wasn't hungry!

Hey Saintlike...Dont be mad at your dad, He doesnt know that hes doing
anything wrong to you....Its your responsibily to tell him how you feel...You
said it yourself that you eat everytime..even when your not hungry and yeah
that happends. But its not his fault since to him it was just another day.

Its sooooo cool that you got an epiphany and decided to watch what you
eat! thats so cool. but in order for this to work...you need support
from your family. Yelling at them wont hurt since their NOT
mind readers. Understand. k :)

Tell them that you want to change your eating habbits and that you
need their support and not to force-feed you k.
Im sure thell love you for it!

am I the only one who reads ALL the posts when I read a new thread?

Yea, never really been the ask for support kinda person. I'd much rather have my own internal struggle. I know, thats bad, but thats just how I've always been.

yeah i'm the same way as you. but now i find myself in constant argument with my parents. it's really not good, you should tell them how you feel. i feel like i've past the point of ever being able to talk to them. they're conservatist asian parents and i've gone through so much crap i've never told them about that, if i tell them now, they'll both have heart attacks and disown me after recovery.

Not diabetes (yay).

It's complicated.

I could go into it but i would probably be a TMI overload.

Well, the nice doctor said that if I didn't, I would pretty much end up gaining twenty pounds a year for the rest of my life O_o

I rarely go read the entire thread. Occasionally I will, but only if it contains a few pages. Anymore than 3-4 pages, I don't read the whole thing. I skim through at best. That being said, I always check the OP, and if I don't see an apparent answer anywhere, then I'll do my best to answer the question.

In any case, I'm tired. :(

Not so much "yay"...

***TMI WARNING

So as women, we of course grow lining in our uterus for a baby. No baby, & the lining gets expelled through menstration. yada yada yada...you know all of this.

Well, I have no less hormones than the average adult female (I actually have more). So even though I may not menstrate, all that bussiness in the uterus has still happened. It doesn't just magically go away. So this will continue to build up as the cycles run together.

Left unchecked, this can lead to such a heavy period once menstration does happen that someone with PCOS will have to go to the emergency room for a blood transfusion.

SCARY!

So normally it's like "No period, eh? Well, I'm good with it." But now I know...bleh.

& anyways, in regards to ovulation: I still ovulate. Just irregularly. I won't with the medicine I take now, but I'm by no means sterile. I'll just have to talk to my doctor when I want kids & work all of that out. So yes :) (I want babies!)

I was talking about joining the Peace Corps when I'm 18; just a thought that crossed my mind, but my moms all like, "I'm not letting you join that type of organization where you have to leave the US."
I'm like I'll be 18, you'll have no say in the decision. It was kinda rude, but she honestly seems to think she'll decide what college I go to, what I do there, where I live, and what I'll do for the rest of my life. She told me I couldn't go to college in Canada. I could she if she planned on paying or at least helping with college, but she has no plans of either of the two. She wouldn't even get up and go to the scholarship thingy I was invited to. So I'll basically be doing this on my own, meaning my decisions.

I can't stick up for myself. I am a pushover and I let some people walk over me. Everytime I try to stick up for myself, one person in particular turns the blame back on me as if I were the criminal for feeling hurt.

I know exactly where you are coming from. 22 years ago I was in your shoes. My mom could/would not give me the money to pay for college applications. Therefore any school I applied to that charged an application fee was out from the get go. I really wanted to apply to some Ivy League places because I porbably could have gotten scholarships. It was like pulling teeth to get her to sign my financial aid paper work etc. And forget doing campus visits the only one I went to was for a potential scholarship that I didn't get. All this from the woman who not going to college was never an option.

Now 22 years later, since the first go around at college was a bust; I've gone back to school and I'm finishing what I started. I wasn't ready for the freedom and had way too much fun and didn't finish. Good luck and fill out as many scholarship applications as you can get your mitts on.

I'm having issues with my daughter's boyfriend. I am NOT happy with him and she wants me to take her to his house today.

Last night, he came over and tried his hardest to stay the night since it was a little snowy. She is 14 going on 22 and he is 17 going on 9. Well, I of course wouldn't let him and I took him home. There was a 1/2 inch of snow on the ground and the roads weren't slick. He proceeded make out with her and quietly bad mouth me the entire ride home crap about how I'm going to get us all killed yada yada. Plus he was all whiny and emo about the weather. He is such an emotional cripple and he gets her all wrapped up in his moods. If I can't drive in less than an inch of snow, I need to live in another state.

Well little Mr. Emotional Blackmail is on my doo doo list and has already called to see if I'm bringing my daughter over today. It is 9 am on a Sunday. I've been up for an hour. Grrrr I'm so frustrated right now.
