I hate it, actually. I just moved to a new state, and have been here for 6 months, and you guys are still my only friends. You guys and Katie, who hasn't emailed me in nearly two weeks. So, being an only child, and being home schooled sucks really badly, because I am so lonely. However, if you get your kids a social life, it's a really good idea education wise. Especially for gifted kids. We tend not to like the whole system thing. But my parents have not done a very good job at getting me "out", shall we say. And don't make any cracks about closets now! ;P

I though about homeschooling my oldest daughter and then I realized 2 things, I don't have the time or the patience to do it. Especially with her. She is ridiculously smart but totally unmotivated and automatically refuses to do anything I ask. I'd strangle her in the first week.

ok so I use a self teaching curriculum/style I don't acutally sit with my kids and "teach" them...I present new ideas when they get to them...I make sure that all their materials are well written (my children have excellent reading skills and comprehension) and they have a fairly good example here because my husband and I are constantly reading/learning things...

my son who will be 6 in Sep (too young for ID age requirements for K this year) taught himself to read when he was 4 and is now on a 2nd grade reading level and can tell time and knows the worth of money..he actually tires to help his sister with her work...she'll be 8 in July and can multiply up to 12 has taught herself to write in Script and is about to start division...Oh I'll point out that we didn't do any homeschooling till AUg last year....

Yup I know. I hate trying to find a suit. When I was a lifeguard it was easy. Speedo- simple but pricey. I don't have that body anymore and my daughter is impossible to fit. So this should be fun.

I hate shopping for swim suits. It's the main reason I don't swim. Since I am oober busty for my age (they just keep getting bigger! I am fourteen with C cups, and they aren't going to stop growing anytime soon), and my weight fluxes a lot, they never fit, or else the girls are always popping out. So I just stopped swimming. Plus, my thighs are awful looking! As well as my hips. And my stomach. Actually I just flat out hate my figure. Though I am getting skinnier.

I have had a very fruitful day today. I got half the lawn mowed, I'll get the other half tomorrow, my back was hurting. I planted 12 tomato plants, got my hair cut and bought "Stitch and Bitch" and a bunch of knitting needles, I went to a yard sale, spent $2.50 and got 2 books, a cd and a Monty Python tape that I haven't watched in ages. By bed time I will have my first knitted sock done, I hope. Now I'm off to get laundry started.

Wow. $600 bucks is a lot my last pair was almost $400. Did you get them from the optomitrist office? Pearl Vision? I usually get my glasses from WalMart because it is a lot cheaper most of the time. My optomitrist charges a fortune on frames and lenses and Pearl Vision is uber expensive. I'm as blind as a bat too. I can't see the top E on the eye chart and since I am getting older I am developing farsightedness on top of my nearsightedness and no they don't cancel out. My oldest wears glasses and my youngest probably will in about a year.

America's Best has some good prices.

The government has assistance for glasses - that's how I got mine. They probably won't have many styles available, but vision is vision. They happened to have the nerdy black-rimmed style I'd wanted, so I got those.

LOL hippie...that's awesome!! but my perscription is so weird that they have to order trial pairs of contacts for me to try out..... and then they're all....most people with similar stuff don't even bother trying to wear contacts....also I'm not sure old people don't usually have the same taste as me..>LOL I got some sweet purple frames..I'll take pics when I get them on SAT

we're milllitary so the exam was free....but I have to foot the bill for glasses...and yes I got them at Wal Mart....I"m not as blind as that KLC...just odd things wrong with my eyes...like I'm farsighted with astygmatism (a near sighted problem) also I see slightly double and it's all blurry....to top that off the dr did some sort of funky test with a special lens and a light and thinks that he's found the reason behind my migranes...my eyes don't respond to light properly...so I had to get those glasses that turn dark in the sun...and he said that if I wear my contacts to ALWAYS wear sunglasses AND a hat in the sun to protect my eyes...also in contacts I wont' be able to read the computer or a book unless I get some of those cheapy spectacles from the pharmacy...I think I might get a pair and make a funky chain thing to wear them on my neck....LOL
the sad thing is that AFTER I got my glasses they were like you're contacts are like $40 a box...but I'm not sure how many boxes I need to last a year....so they might have been the cheaper way to go....on the up side my perscription usually only changes like once in every 3-4 years....and with how much they cost I"ll prolly just recycle the frames a couple times....can't do that with my current frames tho :( cause they're framless and the arms and nose pieces are fused to the lens....they're cool but not very recycleable...
on a good note...my 5 yr old has 20/20 vision...and my daughter gets her eyes checked on Sat..cross your fingers (she needed reading glasses in K but by the time she was in first they said that her eyes changed and didn't need them anymore)

That's what I have! It's wacked out. And the doc says that actually my eyes focus in and out all the time, and have kind of evolved to make up for it. But I still need glasses to read.

my 2nd fashion show was today :I DIDN'T WON... the girl that one hadn't made her clothes herself and had copied all her designs and spent her time crying but I was in third position and everyone told me that my stuff was the best (I don't care about being pretencious just for today:))...but the highlight of the evening was when one of my model gave me a letter I just read it and she said that I was a unique person and that I made her feel happy and inspired her at first I thought she had a crush on me but I just think that she meant it and I'm really happy that someone thinks I'm unique :)

I got my ears pierced at 2.4mm/10 gauge on Friday. It was pretty fun, I went to a different piercer, and we got on pretty well. He was expecting me to complain about the pain, but I was like "Well... It's not in my *smurf*." So it was pretty cool.

I don't think it's ugly....now if you draped it over a chair or couch or had it on an end table with a never ending number of nick nacks...then I'd question it...but lace is pretty...and if you do something coo with it...like put it on the floor...or cover a piece of cardboard in a solid color fabric and then pin the lace to it and hang it as art...then it's interesting....just my 2 cents...
