So I found this HUGE mumu at the thrift store this weekend and picked it up since I loved the fabric and there was a lot to work with there.

So I cut the dress in half and made a shirt out of the top half:

I hemmed the bottom, and shortened the sleeves. I added three rows of shirring to the sleeves and the neckline to give it the gathered look, and I also added six rows of shirring on the empire waist line on the front.

The back basically remained un-altered.
Since I had lots of fabric left over from the bottom of the dress I cut back seam open, hemmed the top and added 10 rows of shirring to the top. I then sewed the back seam up and I had myself a very cute skirt!
