This was one of my fave blouses, but cause I took frequent pillion rides it got stretched pretty bad. I love the dark emerald green colour so much I can even bear to sell or donate it.
I lost my headband in my friend's bike helmet ( I gotta start saying no to free rides home yo!) and I thought I'd make another one using fabric from my pre-loved blouse!

So there're the rectangular pieces I cut out from the base of the blouse. I like it thick so I cut a width of about 6 inches which will result in a 4 inch thick band once I sew in the seams.

Then sew a seam on the reverse side of the two pieces ( you can use just one piece of fabric too but I wanted mine super strong.).

Then I turn it out like a sock through the open end, pushing out the corners before I straighten it out :)

It will then look like this.

Next I fold the unseamed side over first.

And I also fold the ends in so that it gets sewn in later as well to prevent fraying.

And I fold the other end as well.

And sew along the folded edge so I form a loop to thread the ribbon ends through.

Then I just cut two thin strips from the blouse again and string it through the loops at the ends.

Super sturdy headband in the colour I love!
