OK so I've had this thought to make a (as said in topic) stuffed animal back pack I think I must have seen it somewhere I think it would be really cool to have one I have a general idea of how to make one so tell me if you have any suggestions to make it work better before I try
rip out a seem in the belly or cut down the middle if there is no middle seem
unstuff the abdomen and close of the appendages (leaving the arms/legs still stuffed)
add straps and a zipper
Viola? :D

ive seen stuffed bear purses, and even an alligator (or a crocodile i cant remember) purse. they were ridiculously overpriced at the mall. cute though. i think it would look the best if the zipper or compartments are hidden. that way to unsuspecting people it will look like you are toting around a regular stuffed animal.:)

saw this really great idea for a purse or backpack.Basiclly you take a stuffed animal, find the back seam.using a seam ripper pull it open.take out stuffing.{but not all of it}make a simple bag for a liner ,sew it in .Sew on a zipper ,velcro or snaps to close your purse. Then use ribbon for a handle.I'm sure you could pull off the straps on an old backpack and use those. thought someone would like the idea.

I would think you could easily make one by openning up a preexisting stuffed animal and gutting it (OMG that's so cruel) and lining it with a durable fabric. Maybe put a pocket down there. Sew one a salvaged zipper and then add matching straps. Simple enough :P Such a cute idea too!!!

if little kids think its ok to put teddies on their backs why not sacrifice your childhood friend lol I think it'd be good justbe troublesome lining it?

Here's what I'd do... I've thought about doing this to a Winnie the Pooh I have but I don't wanna hurt Pooh :(
Remove head of stuffed animal. Keep stuffing inside head. Remove most stuffing from body. (Leave in limbs)
Stitch cloth to close off the neck hole on the head, and add a loop for a button. Add a button at the neck.
Make a basic bag shape and sew around neck so it sits neatly inside to hold stuff.
Maybe cut the belly, add a smaller bag, and close with buttons, zipper, or velcro?
Sew straps on from matching scrap cloth however you darn well please.
