Chun Li bracelets

So this year for NDK (Colorado's anime con) I'm going as Chun Li from Streetfighter. I've finally gotten around to starting to make my costume.

The first (and only) thing that is done, is her bracelets.

I purchased foam from Jo Ann's fabric store and also got some really cheap felt to cover the foam. The white spikes are the foam itself and I tried my best to cut pieces into cone shapes. The spikes are attached with velcro and each band is held together by velcro as well.

I'll post more when I finish more of the costume!

So why did you decide to use foam instead of stuffed felt? Doesn't the foam easily break?

The size of the spikes would prob make the felt realy flimsy but she could prob rap the felt around the foam to give it stifness but also make it not brake off like you sed.

The foam I used is really flexable, so no it won't break (thank goodness!) You might be thinking of the styrofoam that you find where the fake flowers are in craft stores. The foam I used is like the foam you buy to put under your matress for extra support lol I also figured that you wouldn't be able to tell any difference unless you got really up close to them. Whatever works I guess, I was trying to stay low budget.
