Hrmm. Maybe a Threadbanger special? A Rob and Corrine Appreciation.
Ha, I thought this deserved it's own thread. It's not that bad of an idea actually. Good thinking naturals_not_in_it!!!! It's be awesome. We could idolize both of them and the show by making various DIY projects that relate directly to our lovely host (yes, I'm brown nosing now, I admit it haha). IE pinback buttons, screen prints of their faces, memorable quotes from our hosts tattooed to our necks (okay...maybe not), and etc. Then we can send all our project to them as a present for making such a kick ass show.
What do you think guys? Any ideas?:D

What this would really need is basically, a whole metric loadsworth of uploaded clips declaring love for Rob and Corinne.

I got them from John Lewis, a department store here, that has a half decent haberdashery department. They were half priced down to only £15, from £30, due to some paint damage on the handles. I love them because they made cutting fabric really easy!
miss.green.tea
07-27-2007, 09:32 PM
sweet~ its so hard to cut cloth (esp stretchy cloth x___x) with normal scissors!!
Coffee
07-27-2007, 09:35 PM
It's important to keep a pair of scissors especially for cutting fabric, and to make sure to keep them sharp.
It doesn't cost much to invest in a pair of half decent fabric scissors, either.
The three blades that as vital are a pair of fabric scissors, a pair of thread scissors, and a stitch ripper!

mhmm, only... I just have my scissors....and they are used for everything. (I really need a stitch ripper though..) I keep them sharp. They are also very pointy. I sharpened them this afternoon when the little neighbor girl was over. I then sat, staring at her, sharpening my scissors and when she'd look over I'd laugh evilly. It freaked her out and she left. I don't like her so I'm evil when she's around. xD

...
that's evil. You should make her a dress or something.
but it is important to keep a pair of scissors exclusively for fabric. Cutting things like paper will blunt your scissors before you know it.

07-27-2007, 10:26 PM
the scissors i use are just normal but i stole them fro mmy mom before they got much wear... anyway, i still need to buy soem special ones~ and a new seam ripper.. mine doesn't have a handle (well it used to have a detachable one but then it got lost) and its hard to uuuuseee
Coffee
07-27-2007, 10:54 PM
That doesn't mean you need a new one, necessarily.
What it does mean is that you should keep your eye out for something that would work as an alternative handle.
miss.green.tea
07-27-2007, 11:14 PM
but it would pop right out tho~ anyway it's kinda old too so i'm just sticking with nail scissors until i can get out and buy a decent one
BUUUUUUUUUUUUt i don't want to change the topic of this thread~
so, rob and corinne appreciation ideas anyone?

Agreed Ryanmoore. But it would need to have a catch phrase. DIY or DIE! maybe? With Rob and Corinne pointing like uncle Sam? In top hats maybe?
I don't know I'm really quite tired but heck, if you do get some threadbanger shirts, besure to post 'em.

No, no, it's really a lamp. Uh, a really elaborate paperweight! Uh, an old-fashioned iced tea pitcher...Er, uh, don't tell Corrine's friends back at that nice church from the previous sleeping bag episode. Hee!
Silly people, assuming everything has to do with weed.
Why can't people actually use a hookah, and smoke shisha (flavored tobacco)?

Sorry for assuming...just the way Rob seemed to jump out of that room seemed suspicious to me. How is that flavored tobacco non-sense..I've wanted to try it.

haha silly i know what hookah is silly, I've done it before. I was just going to list health hazards and such. It's like smoking 10 cigarettes at once. It's a myth to think that it's harmless. But then again, it may end up seeming like preaching. It's just that I work in the health field :P in tobacco and HIV/STD prevention.

really? I was always under the impression that pipe tobacco was less harmful (not harmless) than cigarettes.

07-30-2007, 04:19 PM
Not really. The thing is, the water filters the smoke, but I think that it doesn't really filter out as much "bad stuff" as we'd think.
And, yeah, Rob ZOOMED past the hookah pretty damn quickly LOL! I think that's why a bunch of us said "Hmmm...."
Enjoy your Turkish (and not Wacky) Tobaccy!

actually that's my fault...in the original video he says "and here's the hookah" and i took it out because i don't like promoting tobacco use to people. we haven't even used that thing for six months or so. i got it a long time ago because i was a serious cigarette addict and wanted something i could smoke that would help ease the urge when my friends who smoke cigs came over. it helped. anyhoo, as far as the debate on which is worse for you...i would have to say that cigarettes are way worse for you on many different levels.

research from breath California says the equivalent of one session of hookah is like smoking 12 cigarettes... except the smoke is usually enclosed in a fabric heavy room...so you're literally in a smoke concentrated room. I remember doing it once and feeling like crapples the next morning. I couldn't talk (It burned my throat). Still, It doesn't hurt to do it every once in a while. Kudo for cutting the "and here's the hookah" part, my tobacco advocates would be proud :P
BTW What alternatives have you used besides hookah?

Since the law in Quebec forbids any kind of tobacco in public places, hookah (I didn't know that was the name in english) had to make a move in order to stay open. They turned around and now offer some non-tobacco chicha. It's suppose to be nicotine and tar free. I haven't tried it yet (I'm a very, very, very occasionnal user, like 3-4 times my whole life)

chicha, or shisha... I'm not sure how to spell it though... It's how we call it here, that or narguilé, sorry for the misunderstanding!
