The following art was made with silk threads and scraps. I used Mistyfuse (http://mistyfuse.com/?gclid=CNj9sLnY5ZkCFQVinAodcx2fQg) the only fusible that is absorbed by the fibers, Bo-Nash (http://www.bonash.com/) it's like salt crystal form of Heat-n-bond and comes with a Teflon sheet, Sulky Solvy (http://www.sulky.com/stabilizers/solvy.php) a water soluble stabilizer. If Teflon is out of your price range you can use any parchment paper that has been impregnated with silicon.
Sunrise 4"x6" postcard silk threads and scraps fused with Bo-Nash and stitched.

Study of Frogs 11"x 17" Inspired by fellow artist April Sullivan (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6149396), we're in a fiber art group together, who's work is inspired by the Huichol Indians. Development of applique technique using Wash Away Basting Tape (http://www.quiltfabricstore.com/product_info.html?products_id=26), Misty Fuse, Bo-Nash,and Sulky Solvy. I mounted my design on a transparent Teflon Sheet (http://www.heatpresswholesale.com/teflon-sheets/teflon-sheet/prod_8.html), diluted the Sulky Solvy in water and individually dipped the threads in the solution, then layed tehm out following my sketch. They were allowed to dry, then bonded with either Bo-Nash or Mistyfuse and adheared to the fabric. I only kept up with my time on the last frog it took 10 hours.
