In honor of the new Star Trek movie release, it's science fiction and fantasy month here at PTB! (Fantasy was thrown in there for those who don't understand the pure genius of Spock. I mean, sci fi. :p)
Short Challenge:
Budget- $10
This one is craftier than most! Recreate an object from a science fiction or fantasy story. Models of larger items are allowed. Ideas: wands, tricorders, wizard's staff, orbs, model of a ship...
For this challenge, you are allowed to use paints / other coloring materials that you already own PLUS one other item that you already own.
Long Challenge:
Budget- $15
Create a costume of your favorite science fiction or fantasy character! (Finally, a chance to make a costume sometime other than Halloween.)
As usual, be sure to read through the rules and FAQ before you enter. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
And for anyone wondering, the last month's results will be posted within the week. I'm still waiting on a judges scores, if they don't send it in soon I'll just use the scores I already have.

Would Magical Girl Anime count as science fiction? It does involve space travel, after all.

I'm not sure if this particular video game is sci-fi themed or not. It's DEFINATELY fantasy... but... kingdom hearts? I'd say it's pretty sci fi, amirite?

This month sounds like SO much fun!
Questions: Wizard-type stuff, like Harry Potter, would work for both challenges right? And is X-Flies considered sci-fi, I'm not sure...?
