THE Threadbanger Guild [informational]

!! Do not think that because you have been a threadbanger, are a well-known threadbanger, or have many posts, you can automatically apply to this guild. It will not be a strict guild, however, it will be hard to get in. This is to make sure that you are dedicated as a seller and a promoter. !!

The Threadbanger Guild allows the threadbangers to help each other promote their etsy. This is a way for the sellers and buyers of etsy in the threadbanger community to communicate with each other in a different way. Being on this guild will allow each member a chance at being a featured seller (on the forums and/or the video) and a chance at being in one of many treasuries. We will help each other make our shops better and increase views and sales.

Note: Read this thread in its ENTIRETY, so there will be no surprises. This thread is updated daily, and reminders to read this thread will not be sent out.

Why be a Guild Member?
Because you can have...:
-Shop promotion on others' blogs, myspaces, twitters, etc. from the listed TBG members (http://www.etsy.com/profile.php?user_id=7034939)
-Item promotion on others' blogs, myspaces, twitters, etc. using an etsy mini
-An item placed in an etsy treasury put on by a fellow TB Guild member
-A chance as a "Spotlight Banger" on future threadbanger blogs (if you have a tutorial)
-The chance to list and tag your items as "TBGuild"

If you posted a tutorial before the day I have posted this (March 1, 2009), then you may be considered.
However, if you plan on posting a tutorial after that date for a chance to be featured,
...you MUST post a tutorial of something that has NOT been posted before.
Check the Master Tutorial list to see if you do not know if your tutorial has been done.

To be a Threadbanger Guild member, you:

-must have been on etsy for at least 2 months (as a member, not necessarily as a seller)
-->if you have an online shop, you must state that in your application to B!0H@Z@Rd
-must have had at least one sale
-must have been on threadbanger for 3 months
-must contribute to the forum frequently*
-must have a means of advertising purposes**

*To be considered an active threadbanger member, you must have posted 2 projects. This means 2 separate threads you have created.
**This includes a myspace, facebook, twitter, blog, etc.

When it says you must have been on etsy for 2 months, is that just being a member or having a shop for two months?

As a member; Don't forget, though; your shop has to have sold one item!

Question/Comment/Suggestion:

Some people have online shops that aren't with Etsy. Is there anything to be done about that, or are they SOL?

Yea, They can contact bio, and talk to her about being in the guild
That way, you still have a chance at being featured... and you get to post 3x a week in the advertising thread !

I'm going to turn those requirements to questions and add a few important ones and make it into an application form for those who are interested.

ONCE YOU ARE A MEMBER...
Your duties include the following:
-CANNOT be inactive on the forums for over 30 days
-MUST state that you are a Threadbanger Guild member on your etsy announcements
-MUST participate in the Threadbanger trades (to be announced in the future)
-MUST promote the guild as a whole using the etsy mini (see below)
-MUST promote different members on your blog, myspace, etc. at least twice a month using this list of members (http://www.etsy.com/profile.php?user_id=7034939)

If you fail do do any of these, your membership can and will be terminated. If your membership has been terminated, you must wait 2 months before reapplying.

Permanent Etsy Minis:
Permanent Etsy Minis will allow you to post ONCE in a permanent place that will always be seen on your blog or myspace.
Because it's a permanent etsy mini, you shouldn't have to worry about this aspect of your membership unless you change sites, blogs, etc.

May 27th:
TBGuild-ers, you will have until this date to make ONE item for the headwear treasury.
Have them posted on your etsy, and be sure to send me a message with TWO links to those items!

May 28th:
I will send the treasury makers the items [and numbers] that are needed to feature. (Also seen at the end of this post)

June 1st-3rd:
The treasury makers should have a treasury complete and on etsy by this date.
PM me with your link!
If there were no treasuries available, the treasury makers have some time to search (quickly!) for a spot,
The treasury makers should now be advertising the completed treasury on etsy, on their blog, etc.

ok so im posting this here to inform the guild and also as a warning for all of us on here
im not sure exactly whats going on but here it goes
i will be putting my shop on vacation mode for a while

i have been getting suspicious charges to m bank account/credit card
i searched/googled the charge and it was traced back to a square enix/playonline site and as i read through it many people have gotten these strange charges on their cards
many of those people used paypal and alot of them think there might have been a leak.
now im not saying this is what happenend but to be safe im closing my paypal account which was my only form of payment in my shop at the moment

until i straighten this mess out i dont know how i will be accpeting/making payments on etsy


everyone just be on the lookout and check your accounts!
i dont want yall to be in the same mess i am in

as for me im going to the bank to straighten this all out tomorrow
from the looks of it i have to get a new card and everything :/
its such a mess and now im broke :(

Oh noes. I don't want to deal with paypal going nuts. I hope yours gets all worked out, gollygee! That's such a bummer. =( I'm thinking about maybe accepting other forms of payment right now? Like, checks & CCs. 'Cause not everyone has a paypal account, and if things happen like leaks & stuff, people may not want to get them.

&&I haven't ever heard of free-merchant.com before... is it better than paypal?
