Eco heads, DIYers and thoses lacking in excess finances rejoice!!!:D

I've just recently signed up with http://www.freecycle.org/

I'm sure some of you know of this already. Basically it's a community who encourages the practice of recycling, more to the point, giving your excess to others and in turn, it can be thought as recycling. Everything on the site is given free and you can also request a particular item as well. Each area has a yahoo group account to join so you can "FreeCycle" with other people in you community!!! If you can't find you community in their database, why not start one for your area?

I'll be looking for some free cloths now!!! heheh

There's another new site called Gigoit (http://www.gigoit.org/index.php) (garbage in, garbage out) that is similar to Freecycle, but if it ever takes off it could prove to be much more user-friendly than Freecycle. I love Freecycle, but when I used to be on my local Freecycle Yahoo group I found it kind of overwhelming to search through all of the messages for anything I would want. Plus you often have to be FAST to get anything! Although I did once score a pretty amazing stash of vintage fabrics.
