So, after a LONG time of not being able to get my photos online (i choose not to pay for internet at my apartment) i figured out how to use the macs at work to get them to where I can publish them! HOORAY!

So, needless to say, I have a ton of projects that I've gotten done, but that haven't gotten posted! I have some that still need to be photographed, but here are a few to get you all started!

The first is my version of the purse done in episode 10 (i was the recipient of said purse, btw, and I ADORE IT! While I didn't have it when I made this purse, knowing that I was getting it made it easier to give this one up, which I did, since I made it as a gift for my friend for graduation)

stripes.... and.....

Paisley!!!

I gave it to her full of candy! She got all excited, b/c she said she had been looking for a new summer purse! So I saved her some money, and gave her a unique purse that nobody else will ever have! Hooray!

Here's a top I reconstructed w/ some fabric I had left over from a top I tried to make that never quite turned out (i'm still trying to make it fit right... I think it might be a lost cause that needs to be scrapped for fabric)

Anyway, story behind the shirt... my old roommate gave me this, and always one to take a free shirt, I happily took it with me... then realized it had horrible armpit stains! Not that she's a gross person... everyone sweats... but it wasn't my sweat, so that was kind of creepy..

Anyway, here it is as a sessy (boyfriend's word) halter top, now armpit stain free!

please excuse the ridiculous look of my face...

Close up!

and the cliche mirror picture...

And just as a teaser, I here is a dress that I reconned, but have no good final pictures yet... coming soon!!

What alterations did you have in mind for the shirt? I think it looks great already!

I love the pattern on that dress. Be sure to post pictures when you finish it.

I don't mind one bit! I actually got the idea from something I saw online in a "I reconstructed these cheap t-shirts and now I'm selling them for too much money because you think it's cool but can't do it" shop.... I didn't buy it, obviously, because it was way too much money... the top part was a bit differant (they left some of the white underneath and added black lace over it) but it was super cute...

So feel free to steal away...

did u make all those clothes yourself, ive started diy accessories but i want to try making my own clothes too but i wanna know what is a good sewing machine...

The purse I made from scratch, the top I made from an old t-shirt and some knit material and ribbon, and the dress below it has been finished into a halter dress, but not photographed yet....

For beginners, almost any sewing machine will work well as long as it's been tuned up... no need for fancy shcmancy stitches on it, b/c chances are you'll never bother using them! I have a lower end Janome machine (my momma got it for me for my birthday), and it was around $170 originally, i think... she got it on sale, though... Before that, though, I just used her old White machine, and it worked just fine, except that it needed a tune up, which she wasn't willing to spring for, and I didn't have the money for...

However, while I don't think you need an expensive computerized machine, or one with tons of stitches, you still get what you pay for in new machines! You would be better off buying an old machine at a garage sale and having it tuned up than to buy a cheap $20 one from target.... so if you buy used, get it tuned up, but if you buy new, go for one that is around $100-$200.... trust me, that's really cheap for a good new one!

But as you will see on here, a lot of people buy used, and there's nothing wrong with that!

I've always wanted to do something like that, but I could never find anything that looked like it went well together...
Hmm...so what'd you do with the dress? =P
