Once again, the good people of ThreadBanger are way ahead of you, hee! ;)

---And, BHAHAHA!!! It looks like some of the Halloween posts started coming in about late August!!! X-D

I think DIY'ers are costume-obsessed, anyway. (I mainly started tap-dancing b/c I wanted the sparkly costume! I just have this secret love for sequins, satin, and tulle, I guess. )

Here's some Halloween costume threads thus far:

soo start adding the costumes you want to see to this thread!:)

Maybe R&C can team up with the guys from IndyMogul for that. I guess if you did a wire frame, then wrapped it with paper mache and did some airbrushing, you would be able to make a rather close replica to the King's head.

what i did is took 2 coat hangers and bend them intoa nicer shape, then taped them together with a LOT of tape~

then i took some old tights (stockings whatever.. as loing as they're pretty stretchy) and pulled them over the new shape

them i bought like four black boas (the poofy feathered ones) and a few bags of black feathers for the extra spaces and glued them on with hot gluuuuue

it worked!!!

why not make a fifties poodle dancer girl. Take some wire from coat hangers so that it's big enough to fit around your pink or black skirt. Then, by cutting a small hole in the bottom hem, feed it through. Make a little poodle and sew it onto the skirt. Then get a top in the opposing colour and tie a white scarf around your neck. Get some black shoes and Voila! Instant costume for the ladies!

There's also the classic horror movie characters to go with... Frankenstein (and the Bride, of course), Mr. Hyde, Wolfman, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula/Nosferatu, various oldschool Aliens...

I'll probably end up posting a Halloween tutorial or two anyway. I love Halloween and I've always got tons of costume ideas with what I already have, so I may as well share. :)

Woo, I'm doing a MirrorMask costume this year! Dark-Helena (and by bf is being Valentine). I think the Dark Queen's costume is probably a bit too involved for this show, though, given the giant shoulder piece. Some people on the cosplay.com forums would probably have some advice... given some of the crazy things a lot of them make.

I think the best bet for the mask would be to make a sheet-plaster cast of your face (google instructions, it's very easy). Then mix some powder plaster and put smooth a bit of that on just to even it out. Sand it smooth when it's completely dry and paint it with the shiniest metallic paint you can find. Or you could just buy a cheapass plastic mask, I'm sure they come in silver. But that isn't as fun.

i was gonna wear safety pins as earrings too~ but don't do that if you're allergic to whatever they're made of...

so i went as a phantom ghosty thingbob... yea Ive done that safety pins as earrings and its okay, generally. But umm.... oh. I got the straightjacket base (which is a massive off white mens button down shirt) from a thrift store, and I am going to stitch straps to the sleeves and tie them in the back, but leave a gap for my hands so I can hold my bag of major scoreage. Also, Im going to make the collar turned up if I can... And im using D-rings to attatch the straps to the main body. Itll probably take a few hours as soon as I get around to actually DOING it. Yay procrastination!!!Ill post pictures when Im done with it...

do you know Harujuku lovers by Gwen Stefani?

Well, I'm gonna be a Harujuku girl, one of those people in Japan that dress up in crazy costumes every day. I was going to be a doll, but I thought of this and think its totally sick.

Oh, and btw, I'm new, and this forum looks soooooo cool!
