Dance Skirts and Other Wear. (photos)

So a few months ago I started English country dancing and Contra dancing. Dancing is WAY more fun if you have a good skirt so... I made a few. The first is a wool blend and has a nice drape. the second I like more; it's a lot more diy too. I made it out of an old pair of pants and a couple of yards of polyester I found at a yard sale. Then I decided it was boring and painted on a bunch of vies and flowers:

All of these are beautiful! I love the style of the skirts-- they must be so fun to dance in! The vines look awesome on the second skirt.

oh my goodness, they're so beautiful! they look like they'd be a blast to dance in, but i'd probably wear them all over the place. i've been meaning to make a nice flowy skirt, since i have only pants and they suffer from overuse. i also love the paint on the second skirt. it's a really pretty design. excellent work!

Those are beautiful! You're absolutely right, dancing--english and contra in particular!--is always better if you do it in a skirt. I LOVE English folk and contra. I've been doing it for going on eight years now. It a wonderful dance form. Those skirts will serve you well! Post pics if you make any more! Great job!
