Snip, snip: slashed tees (lots of pictures!)

Ok, so last summer Rob and Corrine did a thing on tee shirt "vents" I likes the idea in and of itself but it also reminded me of slashed Elizabethan doublets like such:

The fist one i just did the sleeves and a little on the back, so an not to be too scandalous but then I realized I could just wear a cami under the shirt so...:

This last one I made for my mom but she decided she didn't like it so... I stole it back:

Anyways. the shirts are just cotton jersey and the snips are made by folding the shirt and snipping with sharp scissors.

I love the purpleish blue one! These remind me of those paper snowflakes you make in grade school...only much cooler! Do the cuts stay that neat or do they roll up with wear and wash?

This shirt is about a year old so they roll up some, but only as much as you can see in the photos. someone else made the same comment about paper snow flakes about this shirt. Most of the comments I get are guys saying "your shirt has holes in in" as if I hadn't noticed.

they are all so awesome. i like the simplicity of the first one, especially how there's just a column of slashes at the top of each sleeve. very sleek.

and then the other two are really cool with their slashes of varying sizes. super!
