Turning your impulse buys into a belt

Hi there, I've bought some pretty regretful stuff in my time and my vinyl knee length skirt is right up there in the top ten. I decided to create a thick belt that would go with this baggy blouse I had to create a nicer silhouette for myself. And this is the end result:

It's held together with a thick piece of strong velcro, so that I can change how I wear it, depending on my mood. I think this works well for any material really and instead of a belt buckle you can decorate the belt wth brooches for a zany retro look.

lol ... velcro is sooo easy .... especially easy to apply. Just peel off the back. It does make a noise , though.

Stupid question - how do you keep the velcro from popping open when you sit down? I think if I tried to wear that, the belt would just open up on me all the time...Oh, well. It looks super-cute on you, though!

Wow! Hey you guys, thanks for the kind words, I'm happy you guys like it, me bein a newbie to all this and all.

Actually, not much of a prob with it popping out, cause I used a really thick piece of velcro, about 2 by 5 inches, so the thing's quite adjustable should I expand from a heavy dinner heh. And the Vinyl's quite stretchy too, so it's pretty comfy. Vinyl's not good with the ventilation tho, gets a bit warm, but that's about the only complaint.

Oh, but I reckon such a belt made from Tshirts or ... more elastic fabric would be more comfy and equally fab!
