Low res, Web-cam pictures of my messenger bag... and the pattern and explanations so you don't have to squint and tilt your head to see stuff:

-------------------------------
Materials:
- Pajama top. (The pants fit but the top was too big)
- Scrap of REALLY soft fabric (left over from a costume Cowboy coat)
- Heavy fabric (I made a cape from it last year)
- Other fabric (I don't know where the light purple came from... I just have it)
- 2 Carribeeners (one for the inside colour and one for the outside colour)
- Guitar strap
- Paint
- Velcro (to be added when I figure out why my sewing machine isn't working)
-------------------------------
A: close up of my pen/pencil holder. It was originally just a regular pocket from the pajama top.
B: The guitar strap attached to a loop of many layers of fabric by carribeeners. I just cut up a few long strips of fabric folded it until I had 4 layers (not incl. the bag and liner) and then sewed it to the bag. There is also a treble clef lanyard attached to that for no reason.
C: Open up. The inside of the flap is lined with a lighter purple broadcloth that I found in my scrap fabric pile. On the outside of the pocket is 3 pockets: one for pens/pencils, one shaped for my iPod and one for whatever. The iPod pocket is lined with the pajamas and the other pocket has red lining (scraps from another costume)
D: Inside details. I didn't have enough shirt to line the whole inside so the side closest to me (top in this pic) is some REALLY soft fabric from a cowboy costume. Inside is my wallet and a pack of gum...
E: The front. I made a stencil using the embroidery hoop and panty hose method. You can see the strap details at the top... The inside of the strap is the pajama top, the outside is the same fabric for the rest of the bag and inbetween those layers is the guitar strap.
F: Me modelling the bag...

Aaaand that's it... I hope this helped some of you who wanted to make a bag... It's not uper detailed so I'll try my best to answer any questions you guys have. :)
