Has anyone noticed that all of the costumes geared at girls are SLUTTY, are short, are NOT what I want to wear at all?
If I want to be a pirate, I don't want to have my breasts dropping anchor out of my top.
I don't want to me a mafia mistress with my hind end sleeping with the frickin fishes from under the hem of my tiny skirt.
I went out to a costume store, and it angered me. SO MUCH. Guess what? This year, I'm going to be Alice. From Alice in wonderland, and my skirt will be KNEE length, like in the movies.
I'm also probably going to be set on fire, or have my hair tangled up in a drill for this awesome horror walk I've been invited to join in on. I shall be no ho.
I was also thinking about being Domino, from the movie, "Domino" >D I can pull it off.
Any thoughts?

I am also annoyed that halloween is just an excuse to dress like a slut for some people. I actually kinda pisses me off.

I hear that...Halloween is a beautiful thing...I don't wanna be a hobag for it. It really makes me mad. Halloween is..Better than christmas. I want decent costumes..I don't like having to make EVERYTHING. What are they turning this into...Just..Just go look at "Alice in Wonderland costume" on e-bay. THERE IS ONE DECENT costume made in japan I think...everything else is "sexy Alice" Alice was a little girl! Freaks! EW. >(

Not suprising when we live in a world where little girls want to grow up and be Britney Spears. That be why I make my own costumes.

Awww I love getting it all out for halloween. Like they said in Mean Girls... Halloween is the only time of the year you can dress like a slut and get away with it, ;).

I agree. It's harmless fun, not like they're doing it every day.
And you can make your own costumes if you dislike the store-bought costumes, but there are still some knee-length and longer costumes out there.

So it's ok to scream "R*** ME" if it's only every once in a while?
I beg to differ when there are girls in high school, yes, 14 year olds, thinking that way & dressing up in such provacative ways.

ok, i think the issues about halloween are a bit more deep seeded then costume selection. if being a slut, or looking like one is such an issue go in drag. you can not be really slutty as a guy.
if people are dressing provocatively its is their choice of fashion and at 14 it is not really shocking and expected. also how you dress is not equatable to advertising rape. even to say that is a bit sexist.

I'm not saying that every female is thinking that or advertising, but some of the girls that I have seen are, & I'm not exagerating.
But true, not everyone falls into that category.
& I think those are the last two cents I'll invest into this thread.

All I want is to have a decent costume. I don't like showwing that much skin, I'm modest o-o *Sighs* Making my costume. I'll be displaying the differences. in mine, and a storebought one.

personally i love it... scantly clad women, costumed T&A everywhere MMmmmmm.... it's not like anyones forcing these women to dress provocatively THEY WANT TO DO IT! and there's TONS of costumes that don't make u look like a ho...
the only reason there's soo many itty bitty costumes for women is cuz they sell.

(keeping an eye on this thread...so far it got a lil heated but I think we're ok...)
I donno? My theory is, if you're a grown-up adult, dress sexy or not due to your own choice. The fact that the "cute" or "covered-up" options are not around as much as they were when I was, say, even 21 years old? (I'm 36 now), is driving me a little bonkers.
And I am NOT a bit fond of sexy-fied outfits for little girls. I wouldn't dress up my (imaginary) little girl in Little House on the Prairie dresses - unless she was totally into that look, of course. But skanky stuff for little girls, or pre-teens? NO. No no no no no no thank you.

OH make sure that the apron is bloody, just to add a little more of that halloween effect :D
and yea...I agree that the costumes are very....suggestive. Something should really be done about it because, to be honest....those costumes belong in an adult store, not one where little tods can just happen upon them..

I am going to go as Alice too. I am also going to wear a knee length skirt (and I am wearing shorts under it since I get to go to a party). It is really depressing how all of the Halloween clothes are too sexy.

you have to love this... for all with issues to costumes.
A new case of mad cow disease was discovered when a woman dressed up in an udderley strange costume started chasing kids around a theme park.
Michelle Allen was arrested after she was caught causing chaos in the streets.
The drunken 32-year-old even urinated on a neighbour's front garden and asked people to 'suck my udders.'
She had been hired to wear the outfit to advertise for a local "haunted trail" theme park.
We get people dressed in various attire when they're in court. But this was a first, someone dressed as a cow.
But she left the job to go on a drunken two-day binge.
Judge Mark Wall at the Mooonicipal (sorry, we mean Municipal) court Ohio sentenced her to 30 days in jail for her own good.
"Michelle is pretty well known to us. She's 'struggled,' to say the least," he told the New York Post.
But when she was taken to jail she really put her foot and mouth in it when she started shouting at other inmates telling them to "suck her udders."
Police said that the cow suit was all she had on and had to take her mugshot while she was still wearing it.
And as that was her only form of attire she had to go to court wearing the ridiculous outfit.
The judge said "We get people dressed in various attire when they're in court. But this was a first, someone dressed as a cow."http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o474/bzarrr/michelleallenMadCow.jpg

Mmhmm. Most everything geared at females is slutty. Maybe if so many girls didn't willingly bend over backwards to be "sexy", it wouldn't be like that. Then again, that's me, I've got a massive problem with 90% of all other females.

This costume is being weird.

the catch 22, if women were not buying the slutty costumes in mass quantities, there would not be such a market for them. but then again, all guys get are dracula, mummys, and frankenstein, zombies and werewolf.

*shudder* I would hate to see that for some of the guys at our school. But it sounds fun as long as it isn't too disturbing.
/off topic
But I also despise the fact that you can never find costumes to fit bigger girls. I'm not really one myself, but I have friends who are and they love Halloween but can never find a nice costume because they're all these slutty little leotard things or are for just stick bugs, a good bit of the time both.

I'm overweight, and I really don't have a problem finding something.
Do you guys not have a Spirit Halloween store anywhere near?
I think I'll be buying a costume this year. I've made mine for the past three years.

Ah, Spirit..I get dragged there every year by my girlfriend, lol. I affectionately refer to her as a 22 year old kid heheh..It's ironic, all my friends are at least a few years older than me, and I seem to act the oldest. It's kind of irritating at times heh.
I'll get killed for this, but I ain't doing anything for halloween. I've got no reason to. Yep, I said it.

We were thinking about it this year, an aquaintance from college invited us to a party but I realized that it would be a bunch of stupid college kids dry humping in everycorner, giving us shit for being gay, and girls wearing 'costumes' that would've fit better in victoria's secret. Not to mention I can get really unpleasant when I'm drunk and..yeah. Lets not go there, haha..Don't really want a lawsuit on me hands just because some bimbo decided she was 'bi' for the night.
Just the other day I saw a very young woman shopping at HEB, with her bum showing out of the tiny shorts... Being able to be "sexy" on halloween is something people want to do, mostly because they cant do it any other time, so its the one time they can.

Maybe it's punishment for having cooler costume options in general!
IMO, there are WAY cooler things you can be for Halloween when you're a guy, so "The Man...of Arts & Crafts" wants you to make everything. Blood, sweat, and tears. Ha!

I am really tired of costumes that are slutty
which is why I made my own and avoided a thirty dollar chunk of my wallet missing.
But what really makes me agitated is that that's all there is, unless you special order costumes or make them.
You can't find anything.
And alot of the costumes are geared for people with big boobs, small waists and what not.
Not all of us are shaped like that.
I'm really tired of clothing in general being like that.
Again another reason for DIY fashion.
